The Bachelor of Secondary Education major in General Science program (BSEd-GS) provides a strong foundation for students who would like to become high school science teachers. The program provides students with an in-depth knowledge of general science as well as with effective educational materials. Students are also trained to become competent, competitive and responsible professionals who are able to work in government and non-government offices.
The program also trains students in preparing relevant and effective teaching strategies and materials.
Objective
- Develop inquiring minds and curiosity about science and the natural world.
- Acquire knowledge, conceptual understanding and skills to solve problems and make informed decisions in scientific and other contexts.
- Develop skills of scientific inquiry to design and carry out scientific investigations and evaluate scientific evidence to draw conclusions.
- Communicate scientific ideas, arguments and practical experiences accurately in a variety of ways.
